Geocell

Geocell refers to the Cellular Confinement System, which is a great geosynthetic erosion control system that confines the desired infill and resists downward migration of material due to hydraulic flows. It is widely used for slope erosion protection, soil stabilization, load support, and channel protection.
The walls of G-Cell® geocell can be textured to increase soil-geocell wall friction. The depth of the cell, size of each cellular unit and whether or not the sides are perforated depends on the design requirements. Perforations ensure that cells do not become water logged and cause the infill to lose its strength.

HDPE Geocell
Cellular confinement system – slope erosion protection for the challenging slopes
G-Cell® geocell is a three dimensional cellular structure made from high density polyethylene and ultrasonically welded together or other methods link to be an extremely strong configuration. When filled with compacted soil, concrete, sand or gravel, G-Cell® geocell reduces soil erosion caused by the lateral movement of particles. As pressure is applied to the soil, the tensile stress on the cell wall increases.

Applications

  • Load support
  • Slope protection
  • Retaining wall
  • Channel protection

Features

  • Lightweight and flexible
  • Easy to install
  • Cost effective
Used in
01 Earthwork Construction
Steep slope, retaining wall, embankment

G-Cell® geocell is a three dimensional confinement system made of extruded high-density polyethylene (HDPE). It consists of perforated and indented bands, welded by ultrasound, which forms a flexible element in the form of a honeycomb. It retains materials such as soils, concrete, gravel, soil-cement and local materials with great resistance to cutting.

When used, expand cell, welding or locked, and then fill in the indoor sand, gravel or soil material to be a solid cushion or cover, to protect and improve the stability of slope, and increasing the bearing capacity of groundsill and retaining wall. According to customer demand, could be smooth, embossed, perforated or other different appearance.

Technical Information

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is the geocell material?
Geocell is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and have an open cellular structure that allows them to conform to the terrain. It is a three-dimensional cellular structure that can be filled with soil, gravel, or other materials to stabilize steep slopes and prevent erosion.
2.What is the uses of geocell?
HDPE geocells are designed to contain and confine the fill materials within the cells, preventing soil erosion and promoting load distribution. They are commonly used in applications such as ground stabilization, slope protection, retaining wall, and load support.
3. What are the types of geocell?
Geocells mainly have two types: non-perforated geocell and perforated geocell. We provide a wide rang of ASTM standard geocell in seam strength 1420N/10mm, cell height from 50mm to 300mm, welding space from 330mm to 1600mm, smooth surface or textured surface.
4. What are the typical sizes of geocell?
For welding space 330mm, roll dimension is 2.44m x 6.1m, for welding space 660mm, roll dimension will be 2.44m x 12.2m, other dimensions available on request.
