Dewatering Tube

Dewatering tubes are also known as geotubes, geobags, geocontainers, geotextile tubes, geosynthetic tubes or desludging bags. They are made of high strength polypropylene woven geotextile that resists ultraviolet, environment rotting and damage, biological degradation.
Dewatering tubes are inert to most naturally encountered chemicals, alkalis, and acids making them specializing in environmental remediation projects, wastewater lagoon, and cleaning pond projects, or any type of project that involves dealing with contaminated sediments, varies sludges and sewages.

Dewatering Tube
Specially engineered geotube widely used in environmental sludge dewatering applications
G-Tube® dewatering tube is made from high flow polypropylene woven geotextile. It is a sediment filter bag can contains a large volume of sludge that is used for filtering sediment laden water. It is a cost effective containment solution for dewatering, desludging and protection.

Applications

  • Coastal protection
  • Environmental dredging

Features

  • High UV resistance
  • Excellent filtration characteristics
  • High tensile and seam strength
Used in
01 Marine Engineering
Seawall, breakwater, revetment, cofferdam
02 Environmental Engineering
Landfill, tailing, waste water treatment
03 Mining Industry
Tailing dewatering
04 Constructions Sites
Construction site dewatering

G-Tex® dewatering tube can be fabricated to any desired length and varying widths. This is useful for sites where space is a constraint. You can have dewatering tubes perfectly made to fit the area you are using to dewater. If your job requires a different size dewatering tubes, please talk with one of our specialist to customize for your dewatering needs.

G-Tex® dewatering tube is put into action by hooking up pump hoses onto the pre-manufactured fitting on the tube, then pumping water that needs to be filtered into the bag, silt, dirt, sand and other pollutants are trapped and filtered so only water escapes to the ground below or nearby storm drains. Once the tube is filled and completely drained of excess fluid, it can be cut open and dried sludge can be removed with a loader and a dump truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is dewatering equipment used for?
Pumps and dewatering equipment are used to remove water from a volume of liquid, solid material or soil. Pumps simply remove liquid from a volume of liquid, whereas dewatering equipment separates water from another material such as soil or sludge.
2.How does dewatering tube work?
After the delivery and installation of dewatering tube, the sludge is treated with specialist polymers and then pumped into the containers. Consequently, clear effluent water is drained, leaving the solid within the container. When full, the containers are disposed of at a landfill, or the sludge can be removed and land-applied.
3.What are the installation procedures of dewatering tube?
The common installtion procedures of dewatering tube involves the following steps: select polymer and dewatering tube, equipment preparation, filter bed set-up, tube placement, deployment polymer, start filling, dewatering, sludge cake disposal.
4.What is the purpose of dewatering?
The purpose of dewatering in construction is to control groundwater levels to enable excavation in dry and safe working conditions and to reduce groundwater pressures on underground structures.
